All components are either anodized aluminum or stainless steel for years of corrosion-free performance.

Comes packed in its own OP/TECH neoprene protective draw-string pouch. Use the pouch to cover and protect the ballhead when mounted to the tripod, for carrying the ballhead in your carry-on luggage when traveling, or when the ballhead & tripod are strapped to a photo backpack.
After waiting for this ballhead for several months, then getting shocked by the price, and finally biting the bullet I must say that I am really happy with this ballhead. Its build quality is excellent, mechanical precision is simply fantastic, and the quick release lever clamp works like a charm. With several camera and lens plates from RRS it is an excellent part my support system.
Compared to an older Manfrotto ballhead I had before this one is like from a different planet. Unfortunately, the price is like from a different planet, too. With a price closer to $300 this would be an absolute killer ballhead. At $375 it is an excellent but somewhat expensive product.
In the end I think this is the best medium-size ballhead available on the market (2006) and for my purposes there is definitely no other ballhead that is better.
