Pros:
very stable, great and precise controls, reasonable weight, great build quality.
Cons:
price (but justified by the quality of the product).
I got this head as my standard ball-head, used on my Gitzo 1027.
It works perfectly and I love pretty much everything with this fine piece of equipment. The build quality is very good and very comfortable to use. It is always obvious that RR
S was thinking about all possible details when designing it. For instance, the three buttons are very different, so that it is possible to choose the right one without even loo
king at it: very useful to change the orientation of the camera while looking through the viewfinder!
Similarly, I had a lever clamp with bubble level added on top of it (not the standard one with the BH-40 LR; the other one, with a slightly longer shape) and love it: the bubbl
le level is very useful and the lever clamp very safe in use.
I found this head to be very stable with my all current equipment, up to 10D + 100-400 + flash. I would put more weight on it with confidence (but not on this tripod), but have not tried yet.
The only disadvantage I see is the price, which is fairly high. But in this case what you get for the price completely justifies the price. Highly recommended!
