(From company literature) Manfrotto 190XPROB. Newly redesigned, the 190XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto-patented horizontal centre column feature even easier to use. Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved.

Pros:	Stable entry level serious tripod
Cons:	Construct a little loose on the neck

Pros:	Center column can be tilted for Macro Photography
Cons:	Legs are not easily extended; the Gitzos twist and adjust are much easier to do single-handed

I purchased this as a budget alternative to the Gitzos-- which at this point are simply out of my range. For the price of a Gitzo & head-- I can get a decent prime lens. Not a decision I'm inclined to make. This tripod is a decent (and much more affordable) alternative. I don't regret my choice.
