From f4 on it's as sharp as it gets. Very good wide open too. Minimal line distortion makes it great for architectural. It won't meter with anything under a D7000 and no autofocus. Very good choice for FX. My use for it is for older film cameras w/ no autofocus. One of the great nikkor lenses!
