There are people who dislike this lens for technical reasons. But don't let that dissuade you from purchasing it if you enjoy the 35mm equivalent angle of view. There are sharper primes within the Micro Four Thirds system right now. That is true. But this lens is sharp enough for anyone that enjoys walking around with this perspective.
It may be a little expensive in EU, I feel for you guys.

Wow, this is a disappointment from Olympus. The sky-high price and excellent build quality made me expect top notch image quality. At least as good as the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7. Well, don't sell your Panasonic just yet, because it's not.
As I said, the build quality of this little lens is excellent. A lot of shiny metal. It has a nice weight to it and the lens is not too big. Why Olympus decided to sell the lens hood separate, I don't know. I guess it's all about the money.
The image quality is not that good. Mediocre at best I'd say. Center sharpness and contrast wide open are not so good. The image corners are even softer. Stopping down improves center sharpness, but the corners never become very sharp. The lens shows good resistance to CA though.
Judged by it's optical performance this lens should have been priced at around 200 dollars, like the cheaper Sigma lenses. Build quality alone is not going to justify the high price.
If you absolutely need a 35mm equivalent with faster autofocus then the Olympus 17mm f/2.8 and Panasonic 20mm f/1.7, then this is the one to get. If you don't, forget about this lens. I can't recommend it.

Optics are very good - but I like the 1,7/20 mm Panasonic or the 1,4/25 mm Leica even more.
The price is much to high.
There should be a black one!
