Pros:
it works as advertised, can be used as AF assist
Cons:
uses expensive batteries
Works excellently as part of Canon's wireless flash system, providing consistent results. It does go through batteries pretty fast (and they're not cheap) so it would be nice to have it use reachrgeable ones.
You can also use it as an AF-assist beam on Av, Tv, and M modes (other modes will set shutter to flash sync speed).
