(From company literature) Velbon Neo Carmagne 640. Also known as Sherpa PRO CF-640. Four-section legs make the tripod compact when folded, but it extends up to a maximum of 158.3 cm. After detaching the lower center column, the tripod can be lowered to just 15 cm from the ground. Inner jut pipe in Carbon fiber legs and Magnesium alloy body gives tremendous stability and light weight.

The meaning of Carmagne: Carbon + Magnesium. Legs constructed from carbon fibers and body consists of magnesium. Carbon fibers produced by pultrusion technology achieves extreme light weight and robust structure. Specific gravity of magnesium is only 1.7. This is two thirds weight of aluminum and one quarter weight of steel. Also, magnesium is far superior to aluminum or steel in terms of vibration-absorption, anticorrosion, dimension-stability with temperature change and overall strength.

Neo Carmagne series tripods feature Velbon's unique "Inner Jut Pipe" system. This makes the legs more sturdy and stops them from rotating when the locking nuts are tightened or loosened.

Each leg is individually adjustable, enabling your tripod to achieve its ideal position, even on difficult terrain.

By removing the splittable centre column, the legs can be opened to their maximim spread, allowing you to shoot at ultra low angles. Minimum height can be achieved by splitting the center column.
