SLIK Pro 340 DX review by jeans

Pros: light,tall
Cons: vulnerable to rough treatment

Traveling (abroad) poses requirements that differ from thos when shooting local stuff.
I was going to walk a lot and didn't want to carry my heavy tripod.
Slik Pro 340DX looked like a nice option that won't require to shell out a lot, like Gitzo carbon-fiber ones.
After using it with Nikon D70 and Nikkor 80-200/2.8 and Nikkor 17-35/2.8 I can say that it fulfilled my requirements.
The tripod is tall enough for my needs - had to duck my head some, but then I never use the centerpost.
The images I brought back were perfectly sharp despite the light weight of the tripod.
I'm not sure that 340DX will stand rough treatment well though.
