As a 6 footer, this monopod gives me the extra height needed to prevent having to bend over. It seems like most monopods top out at about 5 feet and the extra few inches of this model really make a difference in terms of comfort. I paired this with a Bogen-Manfrotto 234RC swivel / tilt head and 3157N quick-release plate for use with my D300. This combination allows me to get the viewfinder to eye level with a couple inches to spare.
This monopod is lightweight but sturdy, as it is rated for an 11 lb. load. The grooved legs travel smoothly without any play and once extended resist flexing well. The quick release leg locks are generously sized for easy handling and engage tightly. The black spongy grip appears durable, keeps your hands warm and makes it comfortable to carry. The fabric wrist strap is a bit stiff but I'm sure it will soften up over time. The nice thing about the wrist strap is that it is connected to a plastic disc under the head which allows it to continuously revolve 360 degrees around the monopod. You can wrap your wrist up securely and still have freedom of movement without affecting the camera's position. It also folds down to a nicely manageable 21" for travel; compact for a 4 section monopod.
This is a well made, lightweight monopod with a classy finish at an attractive price.

This mono pod is really worth it. Cheaper than carbon fiber and lighter than many of the carbon fiber mono pods out there. Does a great job helping you stay steady when a tripod is not convenient to use.
