(From company literature) Manfrotto 3275 (410) Compact Geared Head. Extremely compact, the 410 offers geared movement in three directions, pan, tilt and side to side tilt. A unique feature is the ability to disengage the gear movements temporarily to rapidly set the camera in the general position required and then engage the geared movements for fine adjustment. Final adjustment is also made by simply rotating the control knobs.
The head incorporates a quick-release camera plate system and is suitable for 35mm SLR and medium format cameras. 3/8" screw camera attachment included.
This head is a joy to use. The geared movements work very smoothly, and once you have the composition you want, you just stop; there is no way that tightening anything will change your angles.
The only annoyance is that it is relatively heavy. At 1.22 kg, it adds a lot to the weight of any relatively light tripod. My 190 feels topheavy when it is folded up with this head on it, and is much more of a pain to carry around. The difference isn't as noticeable on larger and heavier tripods, of course.
I find myself using the much simpler 3d junior head more, just because it is so much easier to carry around.
