Pros: Very flexible adjustments, stable, relatively small and light
Cons: No quick release

A very nice head, particularly teamed with a 190 leg set to make a relatively small light outfit. It is one of th elightest ones Manfrotto makes.

The lack of a quick release plate is a pain, though, if you are carrying it in the field and want to attach and detach your camera repeatedly and rapidly. You can add one, but that makes it larger and heavier.

Watch it when loosening controls; there are no brakes or anything, and if you aren't holding on to your camera very quick changes of angle can happen, potentially disastrous if you have something like a long lens mounted.

One big advantage to this and its big brother is that there is almost no tendency for your composition o change as you tighten up the controls; it amazes me how many tripod heads do that to at least some extent.

Pros: cheap, steady
Cons: kinda slow to operate and lock in position

Stable but slow to operate, so it's better suited for landscapes, still life and other non-moving subjects.
