(From company literature) Gitzo G1376M Universal Ball Head with Quick Release. Same as the G1375M except with a quick-release plate. Gitzo Off-Set Ball heads are renowned for smooth operation and positive locking. The rotating center socket is unique to Gitzo and provides a range of movement impossible with conventional heads. The graduated base, with its independent lock, allows perfect panoramic positioning.
This magnesium head is 20% lighter than the aluminum version, and a significant saving for photographers on the move. A new Teflon-based anodizing process gives the ball a refined, even smoother movement.

Pros:
light, well built
Cons:
difficult to lock, poor quality plate, off-set design is disappointing
I used this head for two months, then I sold it without regrets.
Typically for most Gitzo products, it is well built, with the exception of the quick release plate, which is really easy to scratch.
It is really difficult to set up this head, for three reasons (!):
- aluminium knobs are difficult to lock up, especially in cold weather and/or for users with sensitive skin;
- while you're locking up the main control knob, the adjustment will always shift some way... this is really frustrating, it makes this head of no use for some shots (for example, in macro works);
- off-set design is always off-balance, needing extreme care during composition and to avoid damages to your equipment, too.
All-in-all I can't recommend this head: Manfrotto/Bogen and Gitzo itself usually bring you much more quality at the same cost.
