The sling pack design is versatile to carry like a backpack, but can be easily accessed by sliding the pack around to the front. The front pocket features Tamrac's U.S. patented Memory & Battery Management System™ that uses red flags to identify available memory cards from ones that are used up. I absolutely love this bag (got it as a present - wife did good!). It is very compact yet is so convient to have it over your shoulder (I had a 4 year old kit and need my hands), you can climb with with an swing around when you need to take a pic. SO CONVIENENT!
I traveled through Europe with it (11 flights) and had space for a canon XT + sigma 18-200mm with hood, 50mm f1.8 on the side, and small video camera on the other side (good only for packing - took video out when taking pictures as the video made bag to tight to easily take camera out - but prime stayed).
I can also fit camera with 70-300 mounted
(sigma 135-400 will NOT fit mounted - I tried).
It's just the right size of a decent walk around, + flash on the side, and/or small prime on other side.
took camera strap off makes it easier to deal with bag stap only. I use the bag even as paddign when throwing camera in something else. It's so compact and protect from scratching LCD (which I did on my previous DSLR).
