(From company literature) Tamrac 5242 Adventure 2. The Adventure 2 is a compact photo backpack designed to carry a digital or film SLR, a few lenses and accessories. The bottom camera bag compartment is zipper accessed and completely foam-padded with adjustable foam-padded dividers. The top is a zipper-closing, non-padded compartment for personal items. Combined in a backpack, these two compartments create a complete personal carrying system. Features include a padded shoulder harness with quick-release sternum strap, an inner Windowpane-Mesh™ pocket for organizing accessories, a full-sized zippered top compartment for gear, zippered front compartmentalized organizer pocket, zippered side pockets and a quick-access zippered pocket on the front flap. If you want to carry a camera with two to three lenses, keep the weight distributed on your back and still be certain you have a place for everything, the Adventure 2 is a very good choice.

Pros: Comfortable, lots of storage, adaptable
Cons:

We're really happy with this product. It is VERY solidly constructed, and seems to have a hard plastic shell surrounded by cushioning for the camera gear to sit in. The straps are very well padded, and overall the pack is much more ocmfortable than our Lowepro Minitrekker. The storage on this bag is outstanding- the filter and battery pockets on the outside of the main compartment as well as the top compartment allow us to use it as a daypack, particularly good for zoo visits and such with the 3-year-old. Snacks, a well-sealed drink bottle, a small purse, etc etc all fit in there.

We have used this bag extensively for 3 years, and it is still in "as new" condition. The only thing is that the main compartment is a bit too small for a Canon 30D and anything more than a short lens, unless you take out all the dividers and lay it in the bottom. Most often we store a 30D with a 25-105 on it in the bag, and that's pretty full, or a 350D with a kit lens and a 50/1.8 in the bag. Not room for much else.

For a single DSLR, with a smallish lens and maybe a flash, filters, extra cards, goodies, snacks, a rocket blower and a small book or your purse, this bag is outstanding. We just ordered the Adventure 8 fora bit more room.
